Pigyard Gallery is an informal, purpose-built exhibition space located on the main shopping thoroughfare of Wexford, home of the internationally renowned Wexford Opera Festival. The fine art gallery is incorporated into Spectrum Art & Framing which opened in 1984 beside what had previously been a pig-drover's yard.
In the shadow of Selskar Abbey and Westgate Tower, this historic quarter of Wexford Town is now a thriving administrative and commercial centre, home to fine art galleries, antiques, good restaurants and a craft centre. Under the guidance of Deirdre Finn, gallery administrator and directors Patricia and Tony Robinson, Pigyard Gallery hosts a programme of exhibitions of contemporary irish art which we hope you will find stimulating and delightful.
A Note to Artists:
The Pigyard Gallery tends to favour contemporary, abstract work although not, by any means, exclusively. Photographic work is not included and space for sculptural work is limited. Artists seeking to exhibit should contact the Pigyard Gallery with photographs of recent work together with c.v. and a brief statement about the work and outlining what you would like to show and when it could be available. Selection is made periodically by guest and resident panelists. The gallery has good natural light and is equipped with track lighting and a gallery hanging system. It is generally suitable for smaller shows. Details of facilities and a gallery floor-plan can be e-mailed on request.
